Madonna launches her first in perfumes for women
Ladies, I've been waiting for this moment.
From the popstar and fashion icon who brought us fingerless gloves, henna tattoos and (for the boldest among us) undergarments worn simply as garments, Madonna has finally decided to create her own perfume line.
Aptly named "Truth or Dare," the perfume shares its name with a documentary made following her Blond Ambition tour in the early nineties.
"Honest, and yet daring, hence the name Truth or Dare," said Madonna of the new fragrance in a recent interview with Women's Wear Daily.
The bottle will mimic the complexity of its name: classic in shape, juxtaposed with an avant garde label and detailing.
The perfume is slated to hit the shelves in early spring of 2012, but we've already got a few sneak-peak tidbits on the scent itself, too. Floral in style, "Truth or Dare" is reported to contain a blend of several flowers, along with some wood and vanilla notes. My guess is that it will be something like"Brit," the hit Burberry perfume with a hint of spice, meets Versace Bright Crystal, which uses heavy florals like lotus and magnolia to give off a sensual, yet very feminine scent.
The target audience is a mature woman, but something tells me that if it's anything like Madonna, the fragrance will have a timeless quality about it, too.
The good news doesn't end there, either. Madonna, 53, also plans to expand the "Truth or Dare" line into handbags, shoes and other accessories. Be on the lookout for a sexy new print, TV and online advertising campaign starring the Material Girl herself, who, by the way, still looks better in a bikini than most 22-year-olds.
You can be sure this new fragrance by Madonna will sell like crazy! It will fly off the store shelves and be a huge success, just like the lady herself–i love her!
