Designer or celebrity: What’s your fragrance of choice?
Some ladies like to try out the latest and hottest celebrity fragrances on the market. Others stick to their tried-and-true designer labels. And still others like to mix and match when they select a perfume for women.
A recent online survey showed just how varied females are in their opinions about celebrity and designer fragrances. Dooyoo, a social shopping website in the United Kingdom that specializes in customer reviews, took the industry's temperature in a recent poll to determine which perfumes are the most popular.
The results? Well, you might have guessed that most women would snub celeb scents and stick to the classics. But, the survey showed that that line of thinking is way off. In reality, celebrity and designer fragrances were chosen with strikingly similar regularity.
Additionally, some of the top star-power perfumes received ratings that were just as strong as their designer counterparts. Beyonce and Britney Spears, for instance, put out some of consumers' favorite fragrances, bringing in top reviews right alongside stalwarts like Giorgio Armani.
The bottom line? If it seems like there are a whole lot of celebrity fragrances out on the market these days, that's because, well there are! But more importantly, a lot of these perfumes are just as good – and in some cases, better – then the classics you've always found at the perfume store.
So, if you snubbed it in the past, maybe it pays to take another look at Beyonce's Heat perfume. I actually have a bottle of this on my bureau right alongside my beloved Light Blue perfume, and frankly I wouldn't be caught dead without either one!
